They switched back to the anesthesia used on day 1 (Ketamine), so that means Chicken was drunk when she got home. She was super tired, but again couldn’t seem to get comfortable. She did eat a little when she got home so that is good. Today was a busy day for the Care Center. Two new cats joined the radiation gang. That is sad news. 😦 They are going to alternate between the anesthesia used: Ketamine one day and Propofol the next. Even though she does better on Propofol, cats can’t have it every day or it can have side effects such as anemia, anorexia, lethargy and diarrhea.
She ended up having a very sleepy night, but definitely much better than the first day. I think each day the recovery will get easier. She is already on to us, though! In the morning when we wake up, she goes straight under the bed. I think she’s just making a show of telling us that she doesn’t want to go, but she is sweet enough to not go all the way under the bed. Steve can just reach right in and get her out!
Here’s a pic her sleeping:
and a pic of her back (no new Sharpie marks today):
